RAPH uses only the highest quality raffia from Madagascar. Dyeing it black gives it an elegant luster and depth. The more you use it, the softer it becomes, and it ages gracefully, similar to leather.

All bags are carefully handcrafted by artisans in a warm, airy atelier. The regular weave leaves a slight fluctuation that is unique to handmade items, conveying the warmth and breath of the maker.

In pursuit of sophistication, the knitting is designed with extremely fine stitches. Fine knitting requires a high level of skill. The skilled local artisans, honed through years of experience, are able to maintain a uniform and dense knitting while achieving an exquisite tension that is not excessively stiff.
